ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- There was a large police presence at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill Thursday due to a situation involving a staff member.

Officials with the Rock Hill Police Department say a staff member was a victim of a domestic incident originating outside of the city. Due to the nature of the incident and as a precaution, additional officers from Rock Hill PD and Allied Security responded to the school.

Officers were in place as the school went into a “secure” while the investigation continues. They say there was never a threat on the campus of South Pointe High.

“The safety of not only the involved staff member, but all students and staff are a priority,” police said.
