LEBANON, Ohio —

A Lebanon Correctional Institution inmate has learned his sentence for the murder of another inmate almost two years ago.

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, James Ogletree, 30, assaulted Marquise Weatherington in his cell on Dec. 6, 2023. Advertisement

Weatherington’s body wasn’t found until the next morning and an autopsy revealed he died from a series of injuries, including blunt force traumas.

When the murder happened, Ogletree was already serving a significant sentence for offenses committed in both Cuyahoga and Lake counties, including robbery and involuntary manslaughter.

On Thursday, a Warren County Common Pleas Court judge sentenced Ogletree to 46 years to life in prison for the murder.
