Honolulu firefighters on Wednesday extinguished a blaze at a Nanakuli home that displaced a household of seven.

The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call at 2:33 p.m. for a fire near the 87-1600 block of Farrington Highway in Nanakuli. Twelve units with 40 personnel responded, with the first arriving just seven minutes later to find a fully-involved fire at a single-story home.

Firefighters initiated a defensive operation due to the home’s compromised structural integrity.

The fire was brought under control at 4:41 p.m. and fully extinguished at 5:25 p.m.

The American Red Cross assisted seven residents who lived at the home, including five adults and two children. No injuries were reported among HFD personnel.
