Central Pa. cop killer had ‘extensive history of mental health and anger issues’: police

Police were called to Matthew Ruth’s York County home six times in the last eight years for mental health issues and outbursts before authorities say he opened fire last month on officers trying to arrest him, killing three.

The majority of the police incident reports were complaints from Ruth’s mother about her teenage son’s instability and the tension he was creating inside their home on the 200 block of Hall Drive in Penn Township, outside Hanover, records show.
