The prime minister has called for a robust response to undercover footage which exposes racism, misogyny and violent behaviour in the Metropolitan Police.

The commissioner of the Met, Sir Mark Rowley, has apologised and said video from the BBC investigation was ‘vile to watch’.

He’s refusing to resign and says the force is taking action to deal with individuals.

But he has stopped short of accepting that the latest allegations prove his force – the largest in the UK – is institutionally racist and misogynistic.
