Authorities have identified the four children and woman who were killed in a Carbon County house fire .

Crews were called for a house fire at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in a home at 56 Willow St. in Franklin Township.

Responding troopers and firefighters found the main floor and rear second floor of the home fully engulfed, Pennsylvania State Police previously said.

Initial reports indicated that people were trapped in the home, but “despite every effort by firefighters and emergency services personnel to safely and efficiently rescue the individuals trapped inside, those efforts were unsuccessful,“ the Carbon County coroner’s office said Thursday.

The victims were identified Thursday as Aida Marrero, 37; Kaylee Quevedo, 14; Matthias Wheelock, 6; Aiden Wheelock, 5; and Nathaniel Wheelock, 1.
