GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Twenty-one artists have come together to use their work to speak out for democracy during ArtPrize.

The “Art of Democracy” is an exhibition of multiple social justice-themed paintings, prints, collages and 3D sculptures on display now through Thursday, Oct. 16, at Fountain Street Church at 24 Fountain St. NW, in Grand Rapids.

The exhibit is presented by Indivisible Greater Grand Rapids, a local grassroots organization aimed at educating the public about current legislation and holding policymakers accountable.

“Artists have always played an important role in political history, often using their creativity to hold a mirror up to their government and bring out into the open the good and bad things that their government does,” a statement from IGGR read.
