Since inmates held several guards hostage during a riot in June at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center, staffing changes and inmate reassignments have led to higher staffing levels than ever at the state's largest prison, though there are still some vacancies.

Trousdale Turner Correctional Center is Tennessee’s largest state prison, operated by for-profit, publicly traded private prison operator CoreCivic. The long-troubled facility is currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice .

In June, inmates held some guards hostage during a riot in the prison . Three guards were wounded during the riot, and inmates caused $55,000 worth of damage. Twelve inmates have since been indicted.
