ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Yet another New Mexico high school baseball star is taking his talents to the Southeastern Conference. Sandia's Colton Floyd is the latest to that list with a recent commitment to Texas A&M.

Floyd is in the class of 2027 and plays both corner infield and pitcher for the Matadors. He said he will do the same with the Aggies.

"I want to be in a school that's going to compete, and I want to be in a school that's going to make me a better baseball player as well and make me a better human ultimately," said Floyd. "The SEC has been a dream. It's been a dream to play there, and driving into town, I loved it. Walking around campus, everything. I felt like I was called to be there."
