With Michigan football set to resume Big Ten play on Saturday, it will have to do it without a veteran wide receiver.

Junior Fred Moore elected to leave the team this week, days before the 20th-ranked Wolverines were set to play Wisconsin (Noon, FOX), team spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed to MLive/ The Ann Arbor News.

A reason was not provided for the departure. Moore was no longer listed on the team roster as of Thursday afternoon, nor has he acknowledged the move publicly.

Last week, as part of an endorsement deal with fast-food chain Popeyes, Moore told MLive that he was working overtime to reclaim more playing time .
