AUGUSTA - The No Labels Party has officially withdrawn as a political party in Maine.

Secretary of State Shenna Bellows says they notified her office back in June of 2024 that they longer planned to remain a qualified party but at that time there was no mechanism in Maine law to allow a party to withdraw once it had become qualified.

The Secretary of State introduced a proposal to the legislature that would allow a party to dissolve by filing a written request signed by the party's chair.

That proposal passed and became law on September 24 of this year.

Bellows says all voters who were previously enrolled in the No Labels Party have been updated to unenrolled.

Any Maine voter who would like to change their party status can do so using the online registration portal maine.gov/vote
