The attacker responsible for the horrific terror attack at a synagogue has been named by police. ‌

Police confirmed 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie, a British citizen of Syrian descent, as the suspect who killed two people and left four others injured following the attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in north Manchester on Thursday morning. ‌

Al-Shamie, who was armed with a knife and a suspected explosive device , was shot dead seven minutes after the ramming and knife attack began. ‌

Two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s have been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts linked to the incident, the Mirror reports .
