MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A suspect is facing multiple charges following a police chase early Thursday morning in downtown Madison, police reported.
According to MPD, an officer saw a vehicle in the area of W. Doty and Carroll Street without their lights on and driving all over the road.
The officer tried to pull the driver over and he allegedly did not stop.
Authorities then chased the vehicle, MPD said. Another officer joined in the chase and threw spike strips down, causing the vehicle to stop.
Authorities took the driver out of the vehicle and put him on the ground.
MPD noticed the suspect appeared to have taken drugs. Officers later reported finding drugs when searching his vehicle.
The suspect faces the following charges:
possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
possess
