Stand together to fight suicide during Springfield's OOTD Community Walk

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Join the fight against suicide during the Out of the Darkness Springfield Community Walk.

The OOTD Springfield Community Walk will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the University of Illinois Springfield Student Union. Check-in starts at 12:30 p.m.

OOTD said in a press release that the Springfield Community Walk is among 15 Out of the Darkness walks held in Illinois this fall.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for ages 15 to 34 and the fourth leading cause for ages 35 to 54 statewide, according to OOTD's release.

There is no fee to register, and participants can register online .
