The presenter of BBC Radio 4's today programme has said she cried for her community following a terror attack outsider the synagogue she worshipped at as a child.

Emma Barnett said she has not been to the temple on Middleton Road, in Crumpsall, since she was 16 but still remembers 'proudly holding her mum’s hand going to sit in the women’s gallery'.

Greater Manchester Police rushed to Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue shortly after 9.30am this morning (October 2).

The force said the terrorist, who rammed into people with a car before stabbing a man outside was shot dead by by armed officers seven minutes after a 999 call.
