COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster commented after the Logan Federico case was thrust back into the spotlight this week.
McMaster said that the death of Federico, who was killed in a Columbia home on May 3 , should “have never happened.”
“I think that the death of that young woman, Logan, is something that should have never happened. And now we’re debating who messed up, who should have done something. That again, that is a debate that we should not be having,” he said.
Federico’s father, Stephen, testified before a U.S. House Subcommittee that he had not heard from Fifth Circuit Solicitor, Byron Gipson, who is prosecuting the case, in nearly four months. The testimony sparked a notable call from U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman for Gipson to be impeached .
