SCHENECTADY — Schenectady endured the tragic deaths of two children in the spring of 2024 — 11-month-old Halo Branton and 5-year-old Charlotte Buskey — with their parents ultimately charged with murder.

With the second-degree murder trial for Branton’s mother, Persia Nelson, beginning this week in Schenectady County Court, is slated to start Feb. 17.
