SHREVEPORT - Chancellor Robert Smith of LSU Shreveport highlighted the university's reinvestment in its physical campus, which is possible because of continuing enrollment growth.
Smith addressed student representatives and organizations at the annual state of the university speech on Wednesday. Enrollment is the primary source of revenue for a university, and Smith said he expects LSUS's enrollment to top 11,000 for the first time in school history once official numbers from the second fall session are confirmed.
LSUS's enrollment hit a record high of 10,926 in spring 2025, one year after crossing the 10,000 mark for the first time in spring 2024. Smith projects growth in undergraduate and graduate students this fall.
