WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — The superintendent of White Bear Lake Area Schools sent a letter to parents explaining more about how a 22-year-old went about becoming a student at a high school.
News broke this week that a new student who was a member of the football team was arrested, and it was revealed he was actually an adult. Students and families expressed shock and disgust about how and why this happened, but the district said the man used false documents to enroll.
On Thursday, district superintendent Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak explained that the student, identified as Kelvin M. Luebke, enrolled as a homeless unaccompanied youth.
