Comedian Heather McMahan has addressed the controversy and fallout of her widely condemned actions at the 2025 Ryder Cup.

McMahan was hired as an emcee for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. This year’s tournament featured plenty of instances of poor fan conduct that led to furious outbursts from Team Europe, including one incident where Rory McIlroy told the heckling crowd to “Shut the f**k up.”

Before Saturday’s round, Heather McMahan led the pro-American crowd to “F**k you Rory” chants. In a statement, the PGA of America announced that McMahan stepped down from her role as the Ryder Cup emcee and apologized to McIlroy and Team Europe.
