A woman died, and her husband of 70 years was injured after a fire broke out at their longtime home.

The blaze broke out at a one-story home on Lifford Place in Fort Worth just before 4 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to a news release shared on Facebook by the Fort Worth Fire Department.

Crews arrived on scene within four minutes of receiving multiple calls about the “heavy fire.” There, the fire department said, an elderly man was found outside.
