WACO, Texas — A portion of Irving Lee Street in Waco will be closed beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 7, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

TxDOT has announced Irving Lee Street at the southbound I-35 frontage road and Belmont Drive will be temporarily closed to allow for utility and drainage improvements in the area.

The work is part of the ongoing My35 Waco South Construction Project.

TxDOT said the closure is expected to last through the beginning of November.

Detour routes will be in place during the closure. Northbound I-35 traffic will be directed to exit at exit 330A, according to TxDOT. Drivers are then told to follow the northbound I-35 frontage road to La Salle Avenue, continue through the traffic circle, then head westbound on South Valley Mills Drive befo
