JOHNS ISLAND — Charleston police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured after an argument escalated.

Officers responded to a Jules Drive home around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1 for a reported shooting, according to police. They found one man dead in the front yard and another with multiple gunshot wounds. The injured person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned that several men were gathered at the home when an argument occurred, police reported. During the argument, one man left only to later return wearing a mask and brandishing a gun. Police said a struggle broke out when another man tried to take away the weapon, resulting in him being shot multiple times.
