BANGOR -- Police are investigating an alleged act of vandalism to a downtown Bangor business.

Bangin' Whoopie is a café located on 6 Water Street in downtown Bangor.

On the Main Street side of the building, a sign saying "caution broken glass" could be seen covering a broken window on Thursday, October 2.

In a post Thursday morning on the company's Facebook page, it reads, "Hey Bangor--how long before we admit we have a problem? Our downtown deserves better."

Employees we spoke with say the business is owned by James Gallagher, who's also a Bangor City Council candidate. Gallagher could not be reached by the time of broadcast.

A spokesperson with the Bangor Police Department says this is an open case that's currently under investigation.
