Armando Daniel Senicero, 48, pleaded guilty to an enhanced aggravated assault charge in a plea bargain with prosecutors that called for a 28-year prison term.

Judge Susan Kelly of 54th State District Court sentenced Senicero and told him he will have to serve at least 14 years in prison before he can seek parole.

Senicero, who faced up to life in prison as a habitual criminal, admitted to police that he assaulted his girlfriend of four years, telling officers, “I need to go to prison,” according to arrest records.
