ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) — SPARK Academy at Cowart Elementary held an Energy Pep Rally on Wednesday to kick off the school's participation in the TVA EnergyRight's School Uplift Program.

The Energy Pep Rally was held to uplift students' spirits with chants and reminders to "be energy energizers, not energy vampires". The pep rally was also visited by Spark, 'the friendly School Uplift Energy Monster.'

The TVA EnergyRight's School Uplift Program helps schools in the area to reduce energy costs and increase learning with "energy efficient training" and opportunities for grants.
