SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Workers at Springfield-Greene County Library District locations want your socks.

During Socktober, you can donate new socks to Ambassadors for Children. The nonprofit will then give those socks to kids in the foster care system.

Organizers say the program has a big impact.

“We collected over 1,000 socks for kids in foster care,” said Stephanie Smallwood of the Springfield-Greene County Library System. “So we’re definitely hoping to hit higher than that this year, maybe 1,500. ”

You can drop the socks in the sock box at each library.
