COLLGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - A new and improved operations shop has opened in Central Park in College Station.

On Wednesday, the Parks and Recreation department met with the City of College Station to do a ribbon cutting for the new shop. The original shop was designed in the 80s, but it was time for a remodel.

The new project started in 2022, voted on by the community. The project ended up being completed ahead of schedule and $3 million under budget.

According to the city, this 16,500-square-foot facility has a main building and an auxiliary building with storage, workshops, and office space. It is located behind the tennis courts.
