GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Haven voters are considering a millage that would fund upgrades to the city's public safety facility.
The question is on the Nov. 4 ballot. So throughout October, the department is hosting public tours and informational sessions to demonstrate the need for upgrades and updates to its 1970s facility.
News 8 received an exclusive tour Thursday afternoon, with officers describing structural problems, like cracks in the foundation, peeling paint, crumbling concrete revealing rebar and cracking asbestos tile throughout the building.
"You can see where (the tile) has been cracked and repaired over the years," Lt. Ryan Enlow pointed out.
In the basement, the department's indoor shooting range now goes largely unused. The traditional stalls have been removed t
