NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Saints signed a 10-year lease extension for the Caesars Superdome on Thursday.

Gov. Jeff Landry met with Gayle Benson and other Saints officials to announce the deal, which will keep the Saints playing in New Orleans at the Superdome through 2035.

“This extension represents a continued and valued partnership between the New Orleans Saints and the state of Louisiana that demonstrates our intent to be here and fully committed for many decades,” Gayle Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints, said.

The lease included a deterrent for future relocation, a $75 million penalty paid to the state, as well as an option for four 5-year extensions up to the year 2055, according to The Advocate .
