JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - Part of the $33 million West Walnut Plan in Johnson City includes something new to the area: a boutique hotel.

Following the completion and ribbon-cutting of the West Walnut Plan, a boutique hotel is set to enter the area.
Grant Summers, President of Summers-Taylor, said the business has been under contract with a hotel developer for a while.
"They've submitted plans to the city, so it's certainly not a secret. There will be a boutique hotel going there," said Summers. "I don't have a date on groundbreaking yet, but I know that their architecture is pretty much finished, finalizing some structural things...
