CLEVELAND -- Detroit’s offense was sputtering until Dillon Dingler hit the gas. His go-ahead homer sparked a rally that lifted the Tigers past the Guardians 6-3 in Thursday’s winner-take-all Wild Card Series finale at Progressive Field.

Dingler broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning, and the Tigers piled on five hits in a four-run seventh to put the game out of reach.

Detroit claimed the series two games to one and advanced to face the Seattle Mariners in the American League Division Series beginning Saturday at T-Mobile Park.
