MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) - A bat found in downtown Marshall tested positive for rabies, the Marshall Police Department said.
A bat was found on the ground in the 200 block of South Washington Avenue on Sept. 29. The police department said the bat was euthanized and submitted for rabies testing.
The City of Marshall’s Local Rabies Control Authority was notified Thursday by the Department of State Health Services that the bat had tested positive for rabies. The LRCA is monitoring the area where the bat was found to see if additional animals may be affected, the police department said.
