DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Davenport city election is next week and there’s already been people coming out to vote early.

As of Wednesday, 170 people have voted early at the county clerk’s office. Another 312 absentee ballots have been cast as well.

Local primaries often have low turnout, with Davenport’s previous primary in 2023 only getting 4,048 votes, which is less than 6% of registered voters.

The Davenport city election is next week, and KWQC will be talking to each mayoral candidate ahead of the big event.

The Davenport primary election is Oct. 7.
