Gorakhpur (UP), Oct 2 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday drew parallels between the characters of Ramayana and contemporary social evils in his Vijayadashami speech, and also hailed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which is celebrating its centenary year.

Addressing a large gathering in Gorakhpur, the chief minister said while the names and circumstances have changed since the epic eras of Ramayana and Mahabharata, the negative characters continue to persist in today’s society.

“The (present day) situation and characters are similar to the time of Ramayana and Mahabharata. The ‘Tadakas’ and ‘Surpanakhas’ are present even today, and we must remain vigilant against them,” Adityanath said. Show Full Article
