Chicago Fire loses three important characters in season 14, but one of them is inevitably returning, which would be exciting if it were the right firefighter. Ahead of the season 13 finale, news broke regarding the exits of Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett , who play Ritter and Carver, respectively. Then, it was announced that Michael Bradway wouldn't return as Damon either.

Kyri and Lockett's departures are a result of budget cuts made by the network. Meanwhile, Chicago Fire is losing Bradway due to a scheduling conflict (he joined the cast of an upcoming Amazon Prime Video series). So, Lockett and Bradway said goodbye to the NBC procedural drama series before the season 14 premiere, and Kyri has returned to close out his character's story.
