ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A water geyser erupted in Midtown Atlanta on Thursday morning as crews continue to work on sewer system issues.

The plume shot at least 40 feet in the air at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue, right by the rainbow crosswalk.

On Wednesday, the department closed northbound traffic at the intersection to repair and increase the sewer system’s capacity. The shutdown is around the clock, and the lanes are tentatively expected to reopen on Saturday morning.
