Fire Prevention Week has officials reminding you to recycle batteries

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City Fire Rescue crews are making sure Siouxland knows how to take care of lithium-ion batteries.

With National Fire Prevention Week taking place next week, officials said they are specifically focusing on the ion batteries at home.

When buying a product that uses lithium-ion batteries, make sure there’s a safety certification mark. If there is one on the product, then that means that the important safety standards have been met.
