New details on a story involving a candidate in the race for Orleans Parish Criminal Clerk of Court.

One man's past has led to a heated back-and-forth between Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill. Advertisement

So we went to get answers from the man at the center of it all, Calvin Duncan.

Duncan stood before the Criminal Court and blasted a letter sent to him from Murrill questioning his claims of exoneration.

"They are attacking me because they know I can win this election," said Duncan, a formerly incarcerated person who is running as a Democrat.

Murrill, a Republican, claims lawyers involved in Duncan's defense on legal proceedings were later key players in vacating his conviction.
