HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Governor Ned Lamont has been subpoenaed as a potential witness in an upcoming federal trial.

The case involves former state official and legislator Kosta Diamantis.

He was indicted in May 2024 on 22 federal counts of extortion, bribery and making false statements, all connected to his time as the state’s deputy budget chief, overseeing school construction projects.

He’s accused of steering no-bid contracts to benefit himself and his daughter.

Court documents were filed today by his attorney, adding Governor Lamont to their list of intended witnesses.

The governor’s office has declined to comment at this time.

Jury selection was meant to start tomorrow, but a motion has been filed to postpone due to the current federal government shutdown.
