An Alberta-shot Netflix western about feuding matriarches in 1854 will finally be seeing the light of day.
After a lengthy seven-month shoot complicated by strikes and the hasty exit of its high-profile showrunner, The Abandons is set to premiere on the streaming giant Dec. 4.
The series, described by Netflix as the story of “two very different families: one of wealth and privilege, bound by blood; and the other a found family of orphans and outcasts, bound by love and necessity. The families find their fates liked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath.”
