Beloved Fox Sports play-by-play announcer Joe Davis will be away from NFL coverage for the month of October.

Joe Davis took over as the lead voice for Fox Sports’ MLB coverage in 2022 after Joe Buck and Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman left the network in 2022 to take over ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” program.

So, if you’re wondering why Davis isn’t in the NFL broadcast booth with his regular partner, Greg Olsen, it’s because he has an MLB postseason and the 2025 World Series to cover for the network.

Fox Sports announced its broadcast teams for Week 5 games. Jason Benetti, who also covers MLB and college sports for the network, will call the Dallas Cowboys-New York Jets game with Olsen and sideline reporter Pam Oliver.
