OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A recent study released by AAA shows as many as 96% of drivers admit to some form of aggressive behavior behind the wheel.
According to the study “aggressive behavior” includes red light running, honking at other cars, tailgating and speeding.
Local law enforcement told First Alert 6 they see aggressive driving on a regular basis while out on duty, Ofc. Dylan Cass with the Bellevue Police Department shared an example
“Here in Bellevue, there’s lots of places where 25 is the speed limit on a main thoroughfare,” He said. “It’s not uncommon that we clock people at 40 and 50 miles per hour.”
Cass was quick to mention new laws in Nebraska that increase penalties for reckless driving. He also said he’s seen aggressive behavior escalate to violence.
