A comet known as 3I/ATLAS made news in July when it was confirmed to have originated outside Earth's solar system.

One infamous theory even posited that the interstellar interloper, estimated to be about 3.5 miles wide, could be an alien spacecraft.

As of now, the comet is on the opposite side of the sun from Earth, making it impossible to observe from the ground. But orbiters around Mars and Jupiter will get a look.
