RICHMOND — Richmond prosecutors are seeking criminal charges against Tavares Floyd — the former 6th District City Council candidate whose election filings came under scrutiny last year after multiple reported donors to his campaign denied making any contributions .
According to court records, a Richmond grand jury will review evidence related to four separate incidents of alleged election fraud on Monday. The dates for each incident align with Floyd’s submission of campaign finance forms to the Virginia Department of Elections.
If the members of the grand jury decide there is sufficient evidence to make a case against Floyd, Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney Colette McEachin will be able to bring charges against him.
