GRAND FORKS — Northlands Rescue Mission's executive director, just five months into the job, has been terminated.

He believes it's retaliation for a disagreement between himself and a member of the board of directors.

"I'm not trying to make it a nasty thing, but I feel like this wasn't fair," Everett C. Jones Sr. told the Grand Forks Herald. "It wasn't warranted. I haven't received any warning. No verbal warning, no written warning, no final warning. Nothing."

After the Herald reached out to a number of board members, one of them — Klaudia Holkup — shared a statement that said the board unanimously determined "the direction of the Mission was not fully aligned with our core values and goals."
