A prolonged heat wave will push temperatures well above normal across central Pennsylvania, with daytime highs expected to reach the mid-70s to low 80s through early next week.

Residents should prepare for unseasonably warm conditions that are 10 to 15 degrees above historical averages for early October.

The National Weather Service forecasts completely dry conditions with clear skies and abundant sunshine through Monday night.
