The suspension of a Palestinian activist who was a student at Vancouver Island University has landed in BC Supreme Court.
A Supreme Court Justice heard arguments Thursday from five lawyers about the disciplinary suspension.
Sara Kishawi, a Palestinian-Canadian, is petitioning the court for a judicial review of the two-year suspension handed to her by Vancouver Island University (VIU).
After completing a Bachelors degree in Sociology, Kishawi now wants to achieve her master’s.
Her lawyer Noah Ross is asking “…for her suspension to be dropped so she can pursue further education.”
