ORONO -- The Maine Black Bears hosted Bryant University for their inaugural match on the New Balance Soccer Complex.

Just three minutes into the match, Black Bears defender Hilary Washington laid one high over the Bulldogs goaltender to give Maine the very early 1-0 advantage.

Early in the second half, the Bulldogs found themselves with a breakaway scoring chance, but Black Bears goaltender Elena Barenburg stayed focused and made the save right in front of the net to maintain Maine's lead.

But just a few moments later, the Bulldogs earned a corner kick chance, and after flying high through the air, the ball landed in perfect position for Colleen Ardolino to boot it in and even the score at one.

Each teams defense would hold up for the remainder of the half, and the game ended in a 1-
