PHOENIX (AZFamily) —When it comes to online scammers, you may think of a hooded person sitting behind a keyboard. But it’s actually a lot bigger and more organized, with dozens of scammers in an overseas boiler room, for example, working nonstop to trip you up.
“We’re pulling back the curtain on modern scams,” said Sarah Gosler, who is in charge of Cyber Human Defense for Wells Fargo.
She said after being targeted, scammers will methodically piece together your information to know more about you.
“Scammers are constantly trying to piece together information about you,” Gosler said. “And they can gather this information from a variety of different places. This includes you social media profiles, public records or from previous phishing attempts.”
